Great work! I really admire how much feeling you manage to convey in so few words.

Thank you so much for playing and for leaving such a kind comment! I was hoping to be able to convey as much as I could while cutting down on words because I usually have a tendency to ramble and overexplain, ahaha. The jam limitations really helped to curtail that, and I am glad that the game still managed to get across the right emotions.

I’m so happy the third ending had that hope for a reconciliation of some sort, or at least for an understanding between them, no matter how strained it might be. The second ending was the one that hit me the hardest, not because the narrator was cutting themselves off from the past, but because they were doing the same to their mother.

Also, very well written.

Thank you so much for playing and for leaving such a kind comment! I am glad that the two endings left such a different set of impressions, I was hoping that players would come away with that. Thank you again so much!

This story is so beautifully written from the way the experience of flipping through the old album is described, the framed memories to the tragic and distant relationship between the mother and son while dealing with traditional norms of gender enrooted in culture. For how short it is (because of the jam restriction), I was pleasantly surprised by how the endings managed to give me a new perspective on their relationship each time.

Thank you so much for playing and for your kind words!! I am glad that the short length managed to get that across. I find that I tend to overexplain things so it was very helpful to deliberately restrict my word count in this way, and I'm glad that it still managed to get through.

this is beautiful. the pain of it is so subtle, but so present, which is so accurate for little memories and remembrances like this

Thank you so much for playing and for your kind words!! (Shaking a little as I type this because I love your games so much ahhhh)

Lovely story and prose. It really captures the pain and beauty of memories, what we hold on to and what (sometimes choose to) forget. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for playing and for your kind words!! I am glad that it resonated with you 💜

I love the story--it feels so honest and real, and I love what it illustrates about that cultural experience. I was confused by Narrat though, like the Menu option that pulls up an empty Skills menu.

Thank you so much for playing and for your kind words! I do apologize for the Narrat UI being confusing, I was not sure how to disable certain features (such as the save/load system and the Skills menu). Once the jams end, I would like to take another crack at disabling those features and update the build. Thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate it!

TOTALLY get it with using an unfamiliar tool (and naturally I understood that that was what going on). I'm glad you got to use the jam to try something new!

if it helps, for my one, i added

.menu-toggle-button {
  size: 0px;
  font-size: 0px;
  opacity: 0;
}

to main.css to make them basically invisible/unclickable! i couldn't figure out how to just do the skills but since mine didn't have sound i wasn't super bothered about the volume or text speed controls either

Ooooh, thank you so much! Gonna add this in to the files once the jam ends, seriously thanks!!

It's lovely going down the memory line, it's as if it's my own memory. It's a great experience and I enjoyed how well it's narrated! Thank you for making this!

Thank you so much for playing and for your kind words! I am glad you had a great experience! 🥰

What a beautiful story! Short, but so effective in conveying emotions! This bittersweet nostalgia about a past you spent with people you love, but as someone you aren't, and being kicked out of the picture because of revealing to them who you are... Leaving the door open to them, secretly hoping they let you in again... and still trying to find the strength to move on if not... This was a wonderful entry, and the title is just perfect for it!

Thank you so much for playing and for your thoughtful comment! I am very glad that my complicated feelings could be properly conveyed through such a short piece. Thank you again 🥰

Well done! The story opened up so beautifully; I'm happy with my choice

Thank you so much for playing and for your kind words! I am glad that you are happy with your choice and found the right closure!

this is lovely, as short as it is. had started to understand the narrative as i kept reading and once realizing it i could very much relate. even the smallest of comments can hurt and making it single choice definitely leave even more of an impact

Thank you so much for playing and for your kind comments! I am glad that you found the single choice impactful, I was hoping it would have that effect!

I stared back at the screen for almost a minute when given the choice.

I loved this, it was beautiful, even if painful. Really well written, the descriptions were very evocative.
